Domain Name
The unique label that identifies a specific Web site, such as netdigix.com. Typically, domain names convey information about a site and are easier to remember than the associated numeric IP address. When a user types a domain name in a browser, the DNS locates the registered domain name and translates that into a numeric IP address.
